Kaufman is an international ESG and sustainability reporting expert with over 20 years of experience supporting regulators, listed companies, multinationals, and development institutions across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He has led ESG and sustainability reporting capacity-building programmes for capital market authorities, designed ESG frameworks, and trained organizations on IFRS S1 & S2, CSRD, ESG governance, climate risk, and SDG integration. Dr. Alexander H. Kaufman is a globally experienced ESG, sustainability reporting, and responsible business expert with over 20 years of hands-on work across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. He brings deep practical expertise in ESG governance, sustainability standards, social and environmental compliance, supply chains, and SDG integration, working extensively with regulators, listed companies, multinationals, SMEs, and international development agencies.
He has served as a Senior Advisor at Global Standards (Thailand), leading ESG and social compliance audits across multinational supply chains, and has held multiple consultancy roles with UNDP, ILO, Rainforest Alliance, IUCN, and USAID-supported programmes. His recent work includes designing and delivering ESG and sustainability reporting capacity-building programmes for capital market authorities and listed companies, including direct support to regulators in the Maldives and Botswana on sustainability reporting frameworks and ESG supervision.
Dr. Kaufman has trained corporate leaders, regulators, and institutions on IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (S1 & S2), CSRD, ESG performance measurement, climate risk, human rights due diligence, and SDG impact, translating complex global frameworks into practical, implementable systems. He is a published scholar with contributions to FAO, academic journals, and global ESG research, and holds a PhD in Environment and Resources Studies from Mahidol University, with postgraduate training in Responsible Business Practice from the UK.
